On behalf of the OADN Board of Directors we are extremely pleased to announce a new educational partnership with Western Governors University (WGU).
WGU is a unique higher education institution that began in 1995 as a result of 19 governors whose goal was to offer a more innovative model of education and at the same time provide opportunity for career advancement. The model is unique in that it provides a means for individuals to learn independent of time or place and to earn competency-based degrees and other credentials that are credible to both academic institutions and employers. WGU offers the RN to BSN on-line that has the ability to assist many of our students. Additionally they are a variety of tracks for the MSN.
Jan Jones-Schenk DHSc, RN, NE-BC, National Director College of Health Professions stated, “WGU and OADN are working together to develop broader and deeper relationships with community colleges to provide more options for academic progression of associate degree nurses. WGU is the only competency based university, offers a flexible, affordable and high quality option for working adults. OADN is committed to finding solutions for its members and associate degree graduates for additional seamless academic progression options.”
